The Noht Does Cornwall
As The Noht heads down to Cornwall for a weekend escape from the capital, we’re looking to those investment pieces that would be perfect for a luxurious escape to the coast.
There are few places as beautiful as the furthest point in England, and what better way to relax than enjoying beachside walks in Berluti or reading the classics by the sea in printed Valentino sweaters.
What to pack
When packing for the coast there are three things to consider, weather, weather, weather. Often searing sunshine one moment and pounding rain the next, it’s unpredictable to say the least. With inclement conditions likely (being that we are still in England) it’s best to dress with layers that can be easily stripped off. Boots are a particularly smart investment and smarter options can be worn around the clock - from there, take advantage of your setting by the sea and opt for breton stripes updated by Gucci and sailor inspired knitwear from Valentino.
Noht to self: Always take a pair of sunnies everywhere you go.
Where to stay
Godolphin House is the best place to round up a group of your closest friends (or just yourself and another if you’re feeling particularly grand) and lounge in the pure bliss of the house and gardens. Praa Sands and its coastal village are only a short drive if you’re looking to explore but otherwise the house has everything you need for a sumptuous week in the country.
Where to eat
It may only be housed in a three star hotel but the restaurant inside the Driftwood Hotel has maintained a Michelin star for the previous 6 years under the helm of head chef Chris Eden. Dishes are simple and packed with fresh, local ingredients - perfect to embrace the best of the coast.
